Aircraft Structural Engineering Liaison Specialist II at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation
Key Qualifications:
Essential qualifications for the Liaison Engineer role:·Extensive background in performing liaison responsibilities and structural analysis to support aircraft repairs, modifications, and enhancements.
·Proven experience in a post-production liaison or structural analysis role, including MRB or concessions engineering.
·In-depth knowledge in generating engineering documentation and instructions grounded in fundamental engineering principles.
·Experience in reviewing engineering schematics, conducting research, preparing calculations, and drafting comprehensive stress analysis reports and troubleshooting guides for operational aircraft with minimal downtime.
·Familiarity with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR), particularly Chapter I, Part 25, regarding FAA regulatory processes, along with a commitment to assist in certification activities for both FAA and international airworthiness bodies.
·Basic understanding of 14CFR 145 repair station protocols and aircraft repairs as outlined in 14CFR43 or familiarity with UKCAA/EASA regulations.
·Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, and adept at managing multiple priorities while meeting customer expectations.
·Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, Quality Control personnel, and management.
·Flexibility to transition between structural design, stress analysis, and troubleshooting tasks while adhering to project timelines.
·Prior experience with 3D modeling software (typically CATIA) for engineering design evaluations.
·Competence in conducting analyses using classical hand calculations and basic Finite Element Modeling with FEMAP / PATRAN and Nastran.
·Experience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis techniques and relevant software.
·Proficiency in developing and assessing composite repair strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Experience in creating 2D repair schematics.
·Familiarity with Gulfstream aircraft.
·FAA DER or ODA unit member status for 14CFR25 related aircraft structures.
·Experience with Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, and Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.
Responsibilities are carried out under the guidance of the Service Center Engineering Group Head to align with Engineering, Certification, and Manufacturing timelines.
Analysis techniques and design standards will adhere to company protocols and recognized methodologies. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Education and Experience RequirementsA Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related technical field is required, along with experience in a specific technical discipline or broad engineering exposure across multiple disciplines. - Maintains up-to-date knowledge of advancements in the specialty field and related aircraft sectors to propose innovations that enhance product quality and effectiveness.
