Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a skilled Avionics Mechanic to join our team. As an Avionics Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing or assisting with inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft systems and structures.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively to receive and understand work assignments and perform aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications under supervision of certifying staff.
- Properly complete work orders, sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
- Properly identify and store customer property and equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment.
- Ensure all customer property is properly protected.
- Use material tracking systems to create parts demand and charge labor to work orders, items, and squawks.
- Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic, and de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.
- Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.
- Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
- Comply with safety rules and procedures and use protective equipment as required.
- In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
- Secondary school education with GSE Grade C or above in English, Mathematics.
- Recognised Aviation industry approved apprenticeship required.
- Working knowledge of EASA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
This is a full-time position with up to 25% travel. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
