Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Northampton

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants.

Role Overview

The successful candidates will collaborate closely with classroom educators to provide essential support to students with special educational needs, including those with physical impairments or emotional and behavioral challenges.

Building positive relationships with parents, students, and fellow staff members is crucial to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each student’s unique requirements. Participation in training and professional development sessions will be expected to enhance your skills and knowledge, enabling you to offer the highest level of support to your students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with special educational needs in their learning and development.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Exhibit patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to assisting students with special needs.
  • Implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) while maintaining accurate records of student progress.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and emotional well-being.
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support, showing resilience in challenging situations.
  • Assist in the organization and management of the classroom.
