Position Overview

Role: Programme Manager (Senior Leadership)

Reporting to: Programme Director (with deputizing responsibilities)

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Oversee and guide delivery teams and agency personnel.
  • Offer strategic direction, advice, and mentorship in programme management.
  • Exemplify leadership qualities, fostering a results-oriented culture.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Implement performance management strategies while promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Enhance team capabilities through comprehensive development plans.
  • Ensure adherence to mandatory training and continuous professional development.
  • Inspire and engage teams across various entities.
  • Support and act on behalf of the Programme Director.
  • Recruit and manage staff effectively.

Programme Management:

  • Track programme progress, clarify objectives, and synchronize activities.
  • Address challenges and enhance delivery performance.
  • Report on programme metrics (time, cost, quality, safety).
  • Contribute to budget planning and financial management processes.
  • Provide strategic insights and support to the Programme Director.
  • Utilize programme management tools and methodologies effectively.
  • Develop and evaluate business cases and benefit realization strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering field.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with design intent for electrical infrastructure in high-hazard industries, preferably nuclear.

Experience:

  • Leading large-scale or complex infrastructure and capability delivery programmes.
  • Delivering results within structured environments through innovative solutions.
  • Managing virtual teams across various functional and geographic boundaries.
  • Engaging stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering, Project Management) or substantial experience.
  • Chartered professional status or equivalent.
  • Relevant qualifications in Project and Programme Management.

Desirable:

  • Experience in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of the defense or security sector.
  • Commitment to established project management methodologies.
