About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our Store Development Team in the Midlands. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of new stores, extensions, and modernizations of our existing store portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the construction of new stores, extensions, and modernizations of our existing store portfolio
  • Manage assigned project plans and deadlines
  • Monitor project progress and ensure quality standards are met
  • Manage relationships with external companies, contractors, and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with our corporate specification and internal procedures
  • Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety performance on all construction sites
  • Remedy any issues quickly and effectively to keep projects moving
  • Report on the progress of construction projects to the Senior team
  • Budget management and controlling project costs
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Engineering or Construction
  • Proven experience in a Construction/Engineering related role
  • PC literate with strong Microsoft Office skills
  • A professional and refined negotiator with sound commercial acumen and judgment
  • Highly organized with a pragmatic and analytical approach
  • A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize conflicting deadlines
  • An excellent communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business
  • A team player who can perform tasks independently using their own initiative
  • RICS, CIOB, or MAPM accreditation is desirable or working towards qualifications
  • Experience in another retailer is desirable
  • Driving License is essential for this role
