About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our Store Development Team in the Midlands. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing, planning, and overseeing construction projects to ensure the highest standards and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Oversee the construction of new stores, extensions, and modernisations of our existing store portfolio, ensuring compliance with our corporate specification and H&S requirements.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage relationships with key collaborators, including internal and external parties, throughout the project cycle.
  3. Quality Control: Monitor project progress and check quality standards are met at all times.
  4. Cost Management: Ensure budget management and control project costs.
  5. Reporting: Report on the progress of construction projects to the Senior team.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in either Engineering or Construction.
  • Proven experience in a Construction/Engineering related role.
  • PC literate with strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • A professional and refined negotiator with sound commercial acumen and judgment.
  • Highly organised with a pragmatic and analytical approach.
  • A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
  • An excellent communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business.
  • A team player who can perform tasks independently using their own initiative.
  • RICS, CIOB or MAPM accreditation is desirable or working towards qualifications.
  • Experience in another retailer is desirable.
  • Driving License is essential for this role.
