About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our team at Lidl GB. As a Senior Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of new stores, extensions, and modernizations of our existing store portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned project plans and deadlines to ensure timely completion of construction projects.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure quality standards are met at all times.
  • Manage relationships with external companies, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with our corporate specification and internal procedures.
  • Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety performance on all construction sites.
  • Remedy any issues quickly and effectively to keep projects moving and ensure deadlines are not jeopardized.
  • Report on the progress of construction projects to the Senior team.
  • Manage project budgets and control costs to ensure financial efficiency.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in either Engineering or Construction.
  • Proven experience in a Construction/Engineering related role.
  • PC literate with strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • A professional and refined negotiator with sound commercial acumen and judgment.
  • Highly organized with a pragmatic and analytical approach.
  • A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • An excellent communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business.
  • A team player who can perform tasks independently using their own initiative.
  • RICS, CIOB, or MAPM accreditation is desirable or working towards qualifications.
  • Experience in another retailer is desirable.
  • Driving License is essential for this role.
