SSEN Transmission is seeking a skilled Electrical Site Operations Manager, well-versed in the construction and commissioning of significant transmission substations.

This role will be centered around a major project, focusing on the establishment of a cutting-edge 400kV GIS G^3 substation and the substantial refurbishment of existing infrastructure.

This initiative is pivotal to SSEN Transmission's commitment to achieving a sustainable energy network.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary representative for SSEN Transmission on-site, overseeing critical deliverables including earthworks, civil engineering, building construction, and the installation of electrical systems.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, particularly those concerning health and safety, quality assurance, and compliance with legal obligations.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors and operational teams to ensure project milestones are met safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with planning permissions and SHE legislation, providing regular updates and reports to the Project Manager.
  • Foster strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and the local community, promoting a culture of safety and accountability on-site.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, candidates should possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical installation standards, including NGET standards and IEE regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing complex construction or utility projects.
  • Strong engineering background with a thorough understanding of safety and CDM regulations.
  • HND or equivalent qualification in engineering or construction management, along with a valid SMSTS certification.
  • Familiarity with NEC contract forms and experience in the role of NEC Supervisor.
This role requires a valid driving license due to the necessity of site travel.
