SSEN Transmission is seeking a Construction Site Operations Manager (Electrical) with expertise in the construction and commissioning of significant transmission substations.
This role involves overseeing the development of a cutting-edge 400kV GIS G^3 substation and major upgrades to existing facilities.
This initiative is integral to SSEN Transmission's commitment to achieving a sustainable energy network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary onsite representative for SSEN Transmission, ensuring effective communication and coordination for all construction activities.
- Guarantee that the project adheres to all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards, legal obligations, and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate closely with contractors and the operations team to ensure timely and safe project delivery.
- Monitor compliance with planning permissions and SHE legislation, providing regular updates and performance metrics to the Project Manager.
- Foster strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and local communities, promoting a culture of safety and collaboration.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical installation standards, including NGET guidelines and IEE regulations.
- Proven experience in managing complex construction projects within the utilities sector.
- Strong background in engineering and construction safety regulations.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering or construction management, along with necessary site management certifications.
- Familiarity with NEC contract frameworks and experience in the role of NEC Supervisor.
