We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Support Engineer to join our team at SSE PLC. As a key member of our Transmission Operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of transmission projects and customer connections onto our network.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and delivery of transmission projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Accountable for the safety, health, and welfare of personnel and activities being managed, including compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including National Grid System Operator, Developers, and other internal teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Chair Commissioning Panel Meetings and attend Design, Outage, and Project Assurance reviews to ensure project deliverables meet technical and quality standards.
- Electrical engineering degree or relevant expertise, with a sound knowledge and understanding of electrical power systems and related operating standards.
- Experience in the electricity transmission industry, with strong commissioning, engineering, and construction knowledge.
- Good understanding of industry codes of practice, outage planning, system planning, and other relevant standards.
- Good people management and leadership skills, with the ability to work alone or with a diverse team of engineers and managers.
