About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our team at SSE PLC. As a key member of our transmission operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable transmission of electricity across our network.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate commissioning programs and operational data to ensure seamless transmission operations.
  2. Analyze power system data to identify trends and optimize electricity flows.
  3. Develop and implement SCADA displays and PSS/E models to support network changes.
  4. Commission and switch up to 400kV in real-time, ensuring minimal disruption to our customers.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of an HNC in electrical engineering and relevant experience in electrical power system operation.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to thrive under pressure.
