About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Control Engineer to join our team and contribute to our Net Zero Pathway to 2030. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating commissioning programs and operational data, conducting power system analysis of electricity flows, and ensuring the provision of appropriate SCADA displays and PSS/E models prior to network changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordination of commissioning programs and operational data
  • Power system analysis of electricity flows
  • Understanding principles of real and reactive power flow, and voltage
  • Experience and clear understanding of a safe system of work
  • Ensuring the provision of appropriate SCADA displays and PSS/E models prior to network changes
  • In real time, commissioning and switching up to 400kV
Requirements
  • A minimum of an HNC in electrical engineering and ideally have experience as a senior authorised person (SAP)
  • Relevant background in electrical power system operation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Team player with a flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Previous experience working in a control room environment desirable
