About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Control Engineer to join our team and contribute to our Net Zero Pathway to 2030.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate commissioning programs and operational data to ensure seamless transmission of electricity.
  • Analyze power system data to optimize electricity flows and ensure reliable transmission.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of real and reactive power flow, and voltage principles.
  • Ensure the provision of accurate SCADA displays and PSS/E models prior to network changes.
  • Commission and switch up to 400kV in real-time, ensuring the safe and efficient transmission of electricity.
Requirements
  • A minimum of an HNC in electrical engineering and relevant experience as a senior authorized person (SAP).
  • A strong background in electrical power system operation and a deep understanding of transmission control principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Previous experience working in a control room environment is desirable.
