Job Summary:

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join our Quality Assurance Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality social work services to children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high-quality social work service to children and families, working in partnership with other statutory and third-sector organizations.
  • Work with children in care and their families to secure safe permanent care arrangements.
  • Undertake child protection enquiries, assessments (initial & core), work with children subject to a child protection plan, respond to requests to accommodate children, and initiate care proceedings.
  • Assess and identify levels of risk and need and deliver protective or supportive services for children with a child protection plan.
  • Implement care plans by working in partnership with parents and colleagues from other agencies to effect better outcomes for children with Child Protection Plans.
  • Accommodate children and young people and initiate care proceedings when appropriate.
  • Formulate care plans in partnership with children and young people, their families, and other providers of care and assistance based on these assessments.
  • Produce court statements and, when required, give evidence in court on behalf of the local authority.
  • Provide verbal and written reports to child protection conferences, strategy meetings, planning meetings, and reviews.
  • Maintain and develop up-to-date relevant skills and knowledge of current legislation, policy, and social work practice.
  • Contribute through team meetings and organizational events to the development of the services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case records in line with policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience of community and/or group work.
  • Knowledge of children's health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
