The Health and Safety Manager will play a crucial role in formulating, executing, and sustaining health and safety initiatives, policies, and protocols to guarantee a secure working environment for all personnel while adhering to applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will operate both on-site and at our headquarters, reporting directly to the Health and Safety Director. The primary duties will encompass:

  • Providing expert guidance and on-site assistance for planned and reactive projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, as well as client specifications and internal policies.
  • Identifying potential issues or opportunities on-site and adopting a proactive approach to problem-solving, including conducting site audits and assisting in the preparation of Construction Phase Plans (CPP) and related documentation.

Promoting a robust health, safety, and environmental culture both on-site and within the office, yard, and warehouse.

  • Supporting project teams and surveyors with technical health and safety requirements for large-scale projects.
  • Collaborating with Directors and Managers on all matters related to Health and Safety Quality compliance and environmental considerations.
  • Developing and reviewing new policies as necessary to align with the evolving needs of the business.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • NEBOSH qualifications (General and Construction).
  • APS accreditation for CDM and principal contractor.
  • Experience in the Construction, Facilities Management, or Facilities Provider sectors.
  • Familiarity with safety contractor standards, Construction Line, and CHAS.
  • Ability to assist and oversee PQQ processes, PPE, training, fire alarm testing, asbestos register, and inductions.
  • Experience in updating and maintaining health and safety manuals and equipment registers.
