About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Services Officer to join our team at GSL Education. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security, cleanliness, and maintenance of our academy premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Management: Manage the security of our buildings and grounds, including routine and non-routine opening and closing, setting alarms, and acting as a key holder for out-of-hours contact.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Conduct site inductions for contractors and assist with inspections under the guidance of senior leadership and Health and Safety consultants.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure the entire site is kept free of litter, dangerous materials, and hazards, including inspecting play areas and equipment.
  • Logistics and Supplies: Take delivery of site materials and equipment, ensuring correct distribution and storage across the school. Assist with the movement of furniture and equipment as required.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Perform minor repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, general repairs, and maintenance of grounds not covered by external contractors.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Set up portable sports facilities, clear litter and debris from grass areas, shrub borders, and paths. Assist in seasonal duties such as gritting paths during snow or ice.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies and assist with general enquiries regarding the use of the site.
Requirements
  • Experience in building security, maintenance, or similar roles is desirable.
  • Practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, or grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety practices and procedures.
