Our client, a prominent UK-based Environmental Consultancy specializing in Hydrology, Ecology, and Environmental Management, is seeking a Senior Flood Risk Engineer to become part of a collaborative and supportive team in London.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a robust academic foundation in Hydrology, Environmental Management, and Civil Engineering, along with substantial experience in:

  • Hydrology
  • Hydraulic Modelling
  • Flood Risk Assessment
  • Water Quality Management
  • Pollution Control

Experience in mentoring junior colleagues is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

This role provides an exciting opportunity to engage with a friendly team in London. Initially, you will be required to work in the office full-time to train and guide staff, as well as to oversee and execute a variety of projects related to Hydrology, Surface Water, Water Quality, Flood Risk, and Drainage for private sector clients, local authorities, and water companies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting Flood Risk Assessments for Planning Applications
  • Performing Flood Estimation using FEH and Winfap
  • Executing Water Framework Directive Assessments
  • Carrying out Water Quality Assessments
  • Implementing Nutrient Neutrality Assessments
  • Performing Hydrological Assessments
  • Developing Surface Water Management Plans and Catchment Management Plans
  • Utilizing Hydraulic Modelling tools such as Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow
  • Formulating Drainage Strategies
