About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Generalist to join our centralized HR team at the Edwin James Group Limited. As an HR Generalist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive HR support across various parts of the business, ensuring the smooth operation of our HR function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations: Provide expert advice and support on employee relations issues, including absence management, disciplinary procedures, grievances, TUPE, and redundancies, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practices.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist our recruitment team by overseeing and coordinating the onboarding process, ensuring all new starter paperwork, contracts, and offer letters are aligned, providing a smooth and positive experience for our new hires.
  • Performance Management: Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes, including career development plans and feedback processes.
  • HR Policy Development: Contribute to the creation and updating of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are in line with current legislation and company objectives.
  • Training and Development: Work with managers, employees, and our Learning and Development team to identify training needs and support the delivery of development programs to enhance employee skills and career progression.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Assist with the management of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with market trends.
  • HR Projects: Participate in and sometimes lead HR-related projects, such as employee engagement surveys, diversity and inclusion initiatives, salary and benefit benchmarking, etc.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that all HR activities comply with legal requirements and internal policies, providing regular reports on HR metrics to management and the HR Manager/Head of HR.
Requirements
  • Generalist HR Experience: Ideally within an engineering, construction, or similar fast-paced environment.
  • UK Employment Law and HR Best Practices: Strong understanding and willingness to learn.
  • Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • HR Software and Microsoft Office: Proficiency in the use of HR software (IFS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Task Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • CIPD Qualification: CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
  • Full UK Driving License: Full UK driving license.
