Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our national HR team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive, commercially focused HR service to our Packed and Powders Business across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor HR policies, initiatives, and projects to support the delivery of the Group's objectives.
  • Work with colleagues to deliver the business's strategy on talent attraction, talent identification, and development, and succession planning.
  • Lead on early careers activities, including educational engagement activities.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with employment law and company policies.
  • Promote and instill a culture of consistency, equality, and fairness in our handling of employee relations matters.
  • Provide coaching and support to site management teams to create an enabling and engaging culture.
  • Be the main point of contact for union representatives across the site and be involved in the annual wage negotiation process.
  • Provide relevant HR KPI data, analysis, and insight.
  • Drive an absence and performance management culture across the site.
  • Co-ordinate the annual performance review process and other tasks required as part of the annual HR cycle.
  • Manage good working relationships with Trade Unions.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of training sessions and support the wider HR Team when needed.

Requirements

  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience) and possess a comprehensive understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Relevant business experience and professional development.
  • Good working and practical understanding of employment law and how to deal with employee relations cases.
  • Proven track record of supporting business changes such as reorganisations and TUPE transfers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working in a unionised environment.
  • High integrity and ability to challenge, impact, and influence others.
  • Personal drive and a desire to succeed and improve.
  • Ability to impact and influence (able to get acceptance of ideas through indirect influence).
  • Ability to assess, measure, and identify key talent and ensure they fit with key organisational drivers.
