Pensions Administrator

- Process monthly return remittances for pensions funds, detailing members' pensionable pay, employee (EE) and employer (ER) contributions.
- Investigate queries returned by pension funds regarding anomalies in monthly return data submitted.
- Notify the payroll administrator of employer rate changes from pension fund communications, actuary reports, and/or the HR-based Pensions administrator.
- Complete leaver forms required by each pension fund in a timely manner after a member retires or leaves their position, calculating the member's latest CARE pay or FTE in line with the LGPS Regulations 2013.
- Respond to local government pension inbox queries from pension funds, members, operations managers, and other stakeholders.
- Complete annual return remittances for pensions funds, detailing members' pensionable pay, employee, and employer contributions at the relevant rates as calculated by payroll.
- Ad-hoc queries required for the Education operational finance pension team when required.
- Organized administrator with a basic contextual understanding of pensions and strong IT skills, including Excel.
- Or someone interested in starting a career in pensions or finance but must have a good understanding of Excel with an aptitude to learn computer systems quickly.
- A high level of attention to detail to screen the data being used.
- Self-motivated, uses their own initiative, and has great time management skills with a good sense of prioritization.
- Articulate, polite, and a confident communicator - this role will require direct communication with pension fund managers, employees, and the operations team as well as payroll.
- Ability to cope and remain calm under a high-pressure workload.
- Salary - Up to 27k per annum
- Hours - 40 hours per week; working Monday to Friday
