Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations, including absence and sickness, to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • HR Operations: Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions, ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies.
  • Talent Management: Engage with employees to foster a collaborative and flexible culture that allows them to achieve their full potential and contribute to the company's success.
  • Performance Management: Ensure effective planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee performance by training managers to coach and discipline employees.
  • Recruitment: Recruit staff, including developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
  • Employee Onboarding: Plan and conduct new employee orientations to foster a positive attitude toward company goals and objectives.
  • Disciplinary Procedures: Investigate and conduct disciplinary hearings, ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies.
  • HR Administration: Maintain personnel files and employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Employment Law: Interpret and advise on employment law, ensuring compliance and providing guidance to managers and employees.
  • Training and Development: Plan and occasionally deliver training, including inductions for new staff, to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Qualifications: CIPD qualified or equivalent.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, approachable and accessible, skilled in negotiation and conflict management, numerically proficient, and commercially aware.
  • Personal Qualities: Motivational abilities, strong administrative and IT skills, highly organized, diplomatic and objective, trustworthy and discreet, committed to continuous improvement, team-oriented with a supportive attitude towards colleagues, patient, and flexible.
