About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Governance Professional to join our team at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Corporate Governance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Trust's corporate governance activities are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to regulatory and legislative requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced professional assistance to the Company Secretary in support of the administration and implementation of the Trust's corporate governance agenda.
  • Work closely with senior members of the corporate governance team to embed the Trust's corporate governance framework and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining good corporate governance practice across the Trust.
  • Interpret national policy initiatives and identify their relevance to the Trust and the governance agenda.
  • Manage and motivate a team, reviewing performance and providing guidance and support.
  • Develop and implement effective governance strategies to ensure the Trust's compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a graduate-level corporate governance qualification.
  • Recent experience of working in a governance role in a complex organization, preferably in a corporate governance role within the NHS.
  • Experience of working with and providing advice within a highly confidential environment.
  • Ability to plan over short, medium, and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and experience of database management and analysis.
