About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Governance Specialist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Corporate Affairs team, you will play a critical role in supporting the administration and implementation of our corporate governance agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced professional assistance to the Company Secretary in support of the administration and implementation of the Trust's corporate governance agenda.
  • Ensure that both Council of Governors and all related sub-groups operate smoothly and effectively, in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, plan, and deliver a broad range of complex activities as required by the Director and Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs.
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining good corporate governance practice across both Trusts, ensuring compliance with the regulatory framework.

Requirements
  • Education: Degree level or significant equivalent experience in a governance role.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Recent experience of working in a governance role in a complex organization, preferably in a governance role within the NHS, with specific experience of Foundation Trusts and working with Governors and Members.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills, proven organizational skills, and experience of managing and motivating a team.
