As a Trainee Service Technician, you will embark on a comprehensive three-year Level 3 program, guided by a dedicated mentor and supported by our college partner, to gain expertise in servicing, repairing, and ensuring compliance of our extensive range of hire equipment.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the routine servicing and maintenance of all hire equipment under the supervision of your workshop mentor.
  • Collaborating with your mentor to identify spare parts needed for machinery to ensure cost-effective repairs.
  • Utilizing on-site Kanban systems to maintain equipment in a ready-for-hire condition.
  • Consulting with your mentor regarding equipment assessments, including recommendations for write-offs, damage evaluations, and managing lost accessories.

What we expect from you:

  • A strong desire to learn within the mechanical and electrical engineering sectors.
  • A positive mindset, coupled with robust problem-solving abilities and excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to a three-year educational program away from home to achieve a qualification in plant maintenance.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and strong numerical aptitude.
  • Previous experience in manual handling is advantageous but not mandatory.

As part of this position, you will enroll in the Level 3 Land-Based Service Engineer Apprenticeship. To qualify, candidates must possess GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths (Grade 4 / C).
