Job Description

50 Sport is a multi-award winning creative and social media agency in sponsorship and sport. Our mission is to be the ultimate partner for rights holders and brands to win. We look to do that by building emotional connections through storytelling for a number of clients in sponsorship and sport. Our partner roster includes; FIFA (incl. FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 Australia and New Zealand), Ferrari Formula One Team, DHL Express, England Football, The Football Association, NBA, Shell, Qatar Airways, EPCR (Investec Champions Cup and Challenge Cup), and The British & Irish Lions to name a few.

We are looking to bolster our growing team with an Editorial Manager in our rugby team. This role will be responsible for leading on editorial output, management and analysis for EPCR website, in both English and French.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Editorial Output and Management: Lead on editorial output, management and analysis for EPCR website, in both English and French.
  • Client Liaison: Lead on regular client status meetings and daily content focused liaison with clients as main editorial point person.
  • Content Planning: Regular content planning on daily, weekly and fortnightly basis for Investec Champions Cup and Challenge Cup websites, in English and French.
  • Content Creation: Writing and ownership of content plans for delivery to clients, copywriting and curation of articles, conducting interviews, and managing uploading to CMS.
  • Tone of Voice: Implement a tone of voice and drive the consistency and strategy behind it.
  • Editorial Strategies: Contribute to editorial strategies, linking to social strategies.
  • SEO Optimization: Optimising content and copy to suit different markets and objectives with different types of content.
  • SEO Tools: Remain up-to-date with changes in SEO best practice, tools and analysis, and CMS platform updates.
  • Analytics: Leading on using SEO-focused tools, GA4 and GSC, and working closely with the Insights team to ensure content reports are fit for delivery to clients.
  • Event Attendance: Appetite to attend live sport for content activation, including at weekends.
  • Digital Ambassador: Acting as a digital ambassador for the client on the ground during tournaments / events.
  • Client Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with any client stakeholders in a positive and professional manner.
  • Role Ownership: Take ownership of a defined role in 50 Sport's overall editorial output.
About You:
  • Journalistic Experience: Trained journalist with experience in SEO, CMS and GA4.
  • Agency Experience: Solid agency or similar experience (within sports, news or social media agency preferable).
  • Language Skills: Business level French and English.
  • Editorial Knowledge: Strong knowledge of editorial fundamentals, methodologies and techniques.
  • Sporting Knowledge: A keen interest sport, with a good knowledge of club rugby (including French rugby).
  • Relationship Building: A natural relationship builder.
  • Initiative: Acts on initiative within a fast-paced news environment if required.
  • Communication: Able to provide a clear point of view across all facets of project lifecycles.
  • Verbal and Written Communication: Communicates effectively in verbal or written form, professionally and in a transparent manner.
