Editorial Services Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Editorial Services Manager to join our team at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). As a key member of our Editorial Services Team, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the team in the production of high-quality publications.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Management: Supervise and support the Editorial Services Team in liaison with in-house colleagues to ensure timely and high-quality publication of manuscripts.
- Workflow Management: Manage the workflow of all IISS publications from approved-manuscript submission to publication, including copy editing, proofreading, and author sign-off.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and support the Editorial Services Team in liaison with Design, Communications, and Events teams to ensure maximum impact for our publications.
- Freelance Management: Identify and employ freelance editors or translators as required.
- Training and Development: Identify and recommend training opportunities to further build team expertise and create training sessions as needed.
- Reporting: Report to the Head of Editorial Services on a monthly basis on key performance indicators.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Extensive experience of editorial best practice, including copy editing, proofreading, and editorial project management.
- Skills: Strong networking and relationship building skills, excellent project management and negotiation skills, and experience of scheduling and resource management.
