Critical Care Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team as a Band 7 Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist. As a key member of the team, you will have a positive and supportive impact on patients and their loved ones during critical care and recovery. You will work closely with ward areas to support patients and facilitate follow-up clinics post-hospital discharge, following CG83 guidance.
Main DutiesThe role supports the patient's journey from admission to critical care to the recovery phase. You will be a recognised expert in Critical Care and post-Critical Care recovery, with varied responsibilities covering the CG83 pathway, including making early referrals to multi-disciplinary teams and facilitating follow-up clinics with clinicians.
You will engage with psychologists, AHPs, and clinicians, providing specialist advice and support to loved ones and patients along their recovery pathway. The role includes providing specialist education and training for staff and students, with opportunities to undertake research and lead clinical audits in your specialist area, presenting at trust, regional, and national levels.
