Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a band 7 Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will have a positive and supportive impact on the patient and loved one's journey during critical care and their recovery period.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the patient's journey from admission to critical care to the recovery phase.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate follow-up clinics post-hospital discharge.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to loved ones and patients along their recovery pathway.
  • Develop and deliver education and training programs for staff and students.
  • Contribute to research and lead clinical audits in the specialty area.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse educated to Degree level or willingness to undertake.
  • Relevant post-registration qualification in Critical Care.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Desirable:

  • MSc.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Advanced communication skills.
Additional Requirements

Essential:

  • To act in a professional manner at all times in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Capable of developing liaisons with other practice areas/academic institutions.
  • The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of broader issues related to specialty - political and Trust.
