Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Installation Engineer to join our team at The VPS Group. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for leading the installation of UPVC and aluminium window, door, and secondary glazing products in the domestic home improvements sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute domestic installations from start to finish, ensuring a high standard of workmanship and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Take pride in your own work and maintain a professional image, representing The VPS Group in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Manage and take responsibility for installation team members, including recruitment and training when required.
  • Overcome installation issues and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage van stock materials and maintain an economical inventory.
  • Capture and record accurate survey information required to order products for manufacture.
  • Accurately quantify all materials required to complete installations.
  • Work collaboratively with office and field staff to achieve team targets and objectives.
  • Support the wider business in glazing, window, and door works as required.
  • Manage and fulfill all workmanship and product-related issues on installations.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer skills for complaint resolution and payment processes.
  • Maintain own admin and compliance duties within company timelines.
  • Ensure maintenance of FCA and PRA compliance.
  • Work to internal Service Level Agreements and Team targets.
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Lead Installer in the domestic home improvements sector.
  • Significant experience in the removal and installation of casement windows, vertical sash windows, composite doors, bifold doors, UPVC and aluminium single and double doors, patio doors, and secondary glazing.
  • Significant experience in the removal and installation of structural bay windows.
  • Significant experience in the survey of window and door products.
  • Detailed up-to-date knowledge of UPVC and Aluminium market offerings.
  • Ability to apply wet trade finishes for making good purposes (plastering, rendering, pebble dashing).
  • Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and prioritize your own workload.
  • Team player with a self-driven and forward-thinking approach.
  • Reliable, polite, tolerant, and determined individual.
  • Full UK/EU driving license.
  • NVQ level 2 or higher in fenestration installation or valid MTC card.
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a large national installation company.
  • Conservatory installation/surveying experience.
  • Ability to complete small building works (brickwork knock out, small courses of brickwork, base works, lintels).
  • Ability to perform UPVC repairs.
  • NVQ level 3 in fenestration surveying.
