The VPS Group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Trainee Installation Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our experienced installation team to carry out domestic installations from beginning to end, ensuring a high level of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Take pride in your work and uphold the company's brand image, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Assist in resolving installation issues and provide solutions to customers, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Efficiently manage van stock materials, maintaining a well-organized and tidy workspace.
- Participate in survey information collection for product orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Work harmoniously with office and field staff, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
- Support the broader business on glazing, window, and door projects, contributing to the company's growth and success.
- Resolve workmanship and product-related issues related to installations, providing solutions and recommendations to customers.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, responding to customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with administrative and compliance tasks within company deadlines, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain FCA & PRA compliance, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Adhere to internal Service Level Agreements and team objectives, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Align with the company's Right First Time and Continuous Improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a secondary or trainee Installer in the Home Improvements sector, with a strong understanding of window, door, and secondary window products.
- Experience in installing various window, door, and secondary window products, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in surveying window and door products, with the ability to accurately assess and measure installations.
- Strong face-to-face communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Self-driven with strong planning and performance assessment abilities, with a focus on achieving goals and objectives.
- Reliable, polite, and determined, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
Desirable Qualifications
- Prior experience with a large national installation company, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Conservatory installation/surveying experience, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of UPVC repairs, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Hold a full UK/EU driving licence or relevant certification, with a clean driving record.
- NVQ Level 2 or higher in fenestration installation or valid MTC card, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
