About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Pensions Lawyer to join our Group Corporate Treasury legal team on a fixed term contract for 6 months or up to one year. The successful candidate will provide specialist legal support to our Group Pensions and People & Places teams, working closely with senior management and executives across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and technical advice on Group pensions matters, including governance processes, pension documentation, and correspondence with regulatory bodies.
  • Support the development and implementation of corporate programmes and projects related to pensions, including product terms, funding documentation, and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Group's litigation specialists to resolve pension-related disputes and complaints.
  • Contribute to the improvement and future-proofing of our ways of working, promoting diversity and inclusivity, and demonstrating leadership skills or potential.

Requirements

  • Current UK legal practicing certificate
  • 5+ years' PQE in providing commercially focused advice on complex transactions and occupational pensions law, strategy, and governance
  • Knowledge of the wider legal and regulatory environment, including the regulatory landscape for occupational pension schemes
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adept at prioritizing in a fast-paced high-impact environment, and willing to be agile and resilient
