Position Overview
The International Property Treaty underwriting division is a vital part of our operations, focusing on generating significant revenue for both domestic and international clientele. This role is essential for the growth and renewal of our International Property Treaty portfolio, contributing to the overall success of the team.
We seek an individual who is dedicated to continuous improvement, willing to challenge conventional methods, and capable of demonstrating leadership qualities within the market. You will be encouraged to bring your authentic self to the workplace.
This position offers the chance to engage with a well-established, supportive, and collaborative team atmosphere, where you will play a key role in managing risk throughout the underwriting process, from initial acceptance to outward reinsurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Property Treaty product line, with a specific focus on the International portfolio.
- Negotiate, evaluate, and underwrite both renewal and new business efficiently, adhering to the business strategy and personal authority limits.
- Assist the Property Treaty team with broker engagement, strategic planning, risk assessment, and business development.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with brokers and clients to facilitate new business opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal protocols, managing aggregates for peak risks.
- Prepare underwriting reports and presentations as necessary.
- Foster positive relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze statistics and monitor the performance of all risks and accounts.
- Review and finalize contract wordings as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Lloyd's or company markets (broking or underwriting) in a client-facing capacity.
- Technical expertise in the Property Treaty class, with a preference for experience in international markets.
- Proficient in IT applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) at an advanced level.
- Familiarity with catastrophe modeling tools at both policy and portfolio levels, such as RMS.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
