Nursing Home Manager Job Description

Domus Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Home Manager to lead our 15-bedded Nursing and Residential Home for the elderly. This is a fantastic opportunity to turn this service around and make a real difference in the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overall Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall running of the Nursing Home, including standards, quality of care, recruitment, and training.
  • Budget Management: The Nursing Home Manager will be responsible for managing budgets and ensuring that the home operates within financial constraints.
  • Staff Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for staff appraisals, meetings, and disciplinaries, as well as ensuring that company policies are followed and adhered to.
  • Liaison with Healthcare Professionals: The Nursing Home Manager will be responsible for liaising with outside healthcare professionals regarding care and ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained.
  • CQC Compliance: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the home meets the required standards of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and that we achieve a 'GOOD' rating.
  • Relationship Building: The Nursing Home Manager will be responsible for building strong relationships with regional and operations directors, as well as other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Registration: The successful candidate must be registered with the CQC.
  • Experience: The Nursing Home Manager must have at least 1 year's experience managing within a Nursing Home setting.
  • Qualifications: The successful candidate must have an NVQ Level 4 or 5 in management.
  • Clinical Skills: The Nursing Home Manager must have clinical skills and experience working with the elderly and dementia patients.
  • Team Management: The successful candidate must be able to manage teams, improve services, quality, and performance.
  • Staff Appraisals: The Nursing Home Manager must be able to conduct staff appraisals, meetings, and disciplinaries.
  • Liaison with Healthcare Professionals: The successful candidate must be able to liaise with outside healthcare professionals regarding care.
  • CQC and Company Policies: The Nursing Home Manager must ensure that CQC and company policies are followed and adhered to.
