About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior LNG Trader to join our team at Gazprom Energy. As a key member of our LNG Front Office team, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, monetizing flexibility, and risk-managing positions within our growing physical LNG portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder in the LNG Financial Trading team: execution and oversight of all financial/derivative requirements across the growing physical LNG portfolio.
  • Executes financial orders & hedging needs for the LNG (Physical) Trading team across all assets/indices, including European Gas, US gas, Oil, Financial LNG, and freight (FFAs).
  • Understands the above markets, provides accurate and live quotes, able to advise on liquidity, execution strategies, and timing considerations; provides pricing & formula reviews and works with analysts and teams to develop pricing tools.
  • Works with the physical teams (LNG Trading and LNG Structured Trading/Origination) to assist in developing and implementing trading strategies, hedging, and position-management, complex structures, new deals, and joint value-creation opportunities.
  • Understands contractual terms and flexibilities, running portfolio scenarios, and developing and implementing strategies to risk-manage and monetize these flexibilities (e.g., via financial instruments).
  • Proprietary trading across assets/indices within defined risk parameters; in addition to contributing towards joint P&L targets for the broader LNG team.
Requirements
  • Experience of physical and financial energy markets, with a focus on European Gas hubs and Oil, ideally also power, coal, emissions, with experience in financial trading and execution.
  • Effective position tracking; tracking market dynamics and trends.
  • Experience in options trading across gas and oil markets (and spreadotions): valuing, trading, and managing subsequent positions.
  • Experience in proprietary trading in the above instruments with a track record.
  • OTC and broker execution experience.
  • Systems, process, controls, and best practice experience in a derivative trading environment.
