About the Role

The Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwifery Practice Education Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our Practice Education Team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of midwifery students and ensuring they receive a high-quality learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance and support to midwifery students, Practice Supervisors, and Practice Assessors in complex decision-making processes.
  • Develop and maintain positive learning environments that support midwifery learners and their partners.
  • Work closely with Health Education Institutions (HEIs) and other stakeholders to drive the development and maintenance of education programs.
  • Role-model a positive lifelong learning approach and identify opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • Stay up-to-date with local and national education, health, and public health reform agendas and implement changes as required.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) on the relevant part of the register.
  • Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience within a clinical setting at a Band 6 or 7 level.
  • Knowledge of healthcare management and managerial experience.
  • Good understanding of the Education framework.
  • Previous experience of working within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge and clear understanding of pre-registration nursing.
  • Understanding of the wider nursing and healthcare issues.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Supervisory/Management qualification.
  • Masters-level degree.
  • Experience of multi-professional team working.
Personal Qualities and Attributes
  • Ability to build and maintain teamwork.
  • Ability to adapt to meet changing needs of the hospital, communities, and its services.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, with an ability to motivate others.

Language Skills

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
