The Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwifery Practice Education Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our Practice Education Team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of midwifery students and ensuring they receive a high-quality learning experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance and support to midwifery students, Practice Supervisors, and Practice Assessors in complex decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain positive learning environments that support midwifery learners and their partners.
- Work closely with Health Education Institutions (HEIs) and other stakeholders to drive the development and maintenance of education programs.
- Role-model a positive lifelong learning approach and identify opportunities for personal and professional development.
- Stay up-to-date with local and national education, health, and public health reform agendas and implement changes as required.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) on the relevant part of the register.
- Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent.
- Extensive experience within a clinical setting at a Band 6 or 7 level.
- Knowledge of healthcare management and managerial experience.
- Good understanding of the Education framework.
- Previous experience of working within an educational setting.
- Knowledge and clear understanding of pre-registration nursing.
- Understanding of the wider nursing and healthcare issues.
- Supervisory/Management qualification.
- Masters-level degree.
- Experience of multi-professional team working.
- Ability to build and maintain teamwork.
- Ability to adapt to meet changing needs of the hospital, communities, and its services.
- Motivated and enthusiastic, with an ability to motivate others.
- Flexible, open, and approachable.
- High level of personal integrity.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and consultation skills.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
