Clinical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Clinical Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to women throughout all stages of pregnancy and childbirth.
Main Responsibilities- Provide supportive care to women throughout all stages of pregnancy and childbirth.
- Ensure women have access to midwifery support, expertise, and advice on a 24-hour basis.
- Take charge regularly of a ward or equivalent sphere of midwifery.
- Maintain active NMC registration and meet all revalidation requirements.

Person Specification- Appropriate registration with the NMC.
- Education to degree level.
- Completion of the new Midwives competency programme (if applicable).
- Evidence of recent CPD.
- Experience of clinical practice.
- Experience of teaching and supporting others.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Knowledge and understanding of current maternity service issues.
- Evidence of multi-disciplinary working.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Demonstrate diplomacy, empathy, and neutrality.
- Ability to utilise knowledge of senior staff and the clinical supervisors for midwives.
- Leadership, negotiation, and consultation skills.
- Ability to practice and contribute to evidence-based care.
- Ability to motivate and promote team working.
- Open and approachable.
- High level of personal integrity.
- Flexible approach and ability to work in either unit of the Health Board and in working patterns.
