Clinical Oncologist Specialist

This position is for a locum consultant with a sub-specialist interest in breast cancer and lung cancer radiotherapy.
The postholder will be an integral member of the Breast Cancer team, consisting of three Medical Oncologists, two Clinical Oncologists, one of whom is a Specialist Oncologist, a Specialist Nurse for both metastatic and adjuvant breast cancer, and a dedicated pharmacist. The team is also supported by research nurses.
Key Duties- Provide a clinical service, working with colleagues, to prevent, diagnose, and treat illnesses.
- See approximately 150 new patients annually. Patients receiving adjuvant breast radiotherapy will have surgical follow-up.
- Registered with the GMC.
- Licensed to Practice.
- Evidence of effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
- Experience of working with management and clinical colleagues to improve a service.
- Research experience in oncology.
- Prior experience in breast and lung radiotherapy.
- Effective leadership ability to take responsibility and demonstrate leadership when appropriate.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, relatives, and staff.
- Clinical skills in the management of breast and lung radiotherapy.
- Flexible and adaptable to competing demands, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and cope with setbacks.
- Enthusiasm to take a lead role in clinical development.
