Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom Wirral Borough Council Full time

Position Overview:

Wirral Borough Council is proud to manage the Merseyside Pension Fund (MPF), a significant entity within the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) framework, boasting assets exceeding £10 billion.

The Fund operates as a contributory defined benefit pension scheme, administered to deliver pensions and associated benefits for employees across more than 200 organizations, including various local authorities and other entities.

We are currently seeking 4 dedicated professionals to join our Administration team at the Merseyside Pension Fund. These roles will be situated in a central location and will focus on the Benefits team.

The selected individuals will be tasked with applying statutory obligations under pension scheme regulations and relevant legislation to assess and compute member benefits, while ensuring the accuracy of member data and financial records.

In this capacity, you will engage with Fund members, employers, and external organizations, providing both written and verbal guidance to a diverse clientele. Therefore, exceptional communication skills and strong financial understanding are essential.

For those who may not meet all the specified criteria but believe they can contribute meaningfully to the role, we encourage you to express your interest, as we may consider traineeship opportunities based on the candidate pool.

We are committed to supporting our employees' growth and development. If you are currently part of Wirral Borough Council, we offer various resources to assist you in your career progression.

Our Commitment to Wellbeing:

At Wirral, we prioritize staff wellbeing and recognize the importance of acknowledging and rewarding contributions. Our comprehensive benefits package includes staff discounts, a robust pension scheme with a generous employer contribution, immediate life insurance, and protection against ill health.

We promote a flexible working culture, family-friendly policies, and an annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days, in addition to public holidays.

Diversity and Inclusion:

We foster an inclusive and engaged workplace culture where every voice is valued. We believe that diversity is vital to our success and actively encourage individuals from various backgrounds to apply.

We strive to create an environment where everyone can thrive, and we are open to making adjustments during the recruitment process to ensure accessibility.

We adhere to our Council's policy regarding redeployment and re-employment, ensuring fair consideration for all candidates.
