Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent, Full-time

Location: School Setting

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Assistant to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour in a school setting. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the education and development of children and young people with challenging behaviour.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-2-1 support to students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage participation in learning activities.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to develop tailored learning plans for students, monitoring progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
  • Encourage and motivate students to engage in learning, providing additional support where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
