About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic specialist pharmacist to join our team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Pharmacist - Gastroenterology Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to the Gastroenterology specialty.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead, deliver, develop, and evaluate a clinical pharmacy service to ensure safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs.
  • Participate in the pharmaceutical services of the Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust, including clinical pharmacy, aseptic services, and in-patient services.
  • Take part in the weekend and bank holiday and out of hour emergency duty service.

Person Specification

We are looking for a pharmacist with:

  • MPharm or equivalent
  • Registered with GPhC
  • Postgraduate diploma qualification in clinical pharmacy (or relevant experience)

Desirable qualifications include leadership or management qualifications, NMP qualification, and membership of the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacist Group Independent Prescribing qualification.

Experience

We are looking for a pharmacist with:

  • Significant in-patient hospital experience
  • Delivery of clinical pharmacy services
  • Experience of personnel management
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable experience includes paediatric pharmacy experience, gastro experience, and experience of NHSE funding.

Knowledge and Skills

We are looking for a pharmacist with:

  • Highly developed communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to work on own initiative, is self-motivated, and takes responsibility for work and delivers work on time to professional standards
  • In-depth knowledge of medicines management

Desirable skills include experience of drug use in gastro and experience of service development.
