Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is seeking a seasoned Capital Investment Leader to spearhead our venture capital program.

As the Director, FCC Capital, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth and fostering innovation within the Canadian agriculture and agri-food sector.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Developing and executing the FCC Capital Investments strategy in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Providing expert guidance on investment frameworks, policies, metrics, and best practices for our venture capital program.
  • Identifying and recommending promising investment and partnership opportunities within the agriculture and agri-food industry.
  • Conducting thorough due diligence on potential investments to ensure alignment with FCC's strategic objectives.
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with fund managers, industry stakeholders, investors, and other key players in the venture capital ecosystem.
  • Generating comprehensive reports, forecasts, analytics, and monitoring of program outcomes and financial performance.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or commerce, coupled with at least 15 years of relevant leadership experience in the venture capital industry.
  • A CPA, CFA, or MBA designation (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of venture capital investments, fund design, and related regulations and best practices within the Canadian agriculture and agri-food sector.
