Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal care, including hygiene, nutrition, and continence needs.
  • Support patients in mobilizing as needed.
  • Take and document vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure under the guidance of a qualified nurse, ensuring accurate reporting of any irregularities.
  • Conduct specimen testing and record results appropriately.
  • Under the supervision of a qualified nurse, provide support to patients during clinical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Restock departmental supplies as necessary and notify the Nurse in Charge or Ward Manager of any shortages.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

  • No prior experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a care role is required; however, you must demonstrate enthusiasm, dedication, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • A commitment to completing all necessary training, including the Care Certificate if applicable.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in a healthcare-related field (e.g., NVQ, BTEC).
  • National Care Certificate.
  • GCSE passes in Maths and English at grade D or above.
  • Previous experience in a care setting.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in a healthcare-related field is desirable.
  • National Care Certificate.
  • GCSE passes in Maths and English at grade D or above or functional skills level 2 in numeracy and literacy.
