About the Role

This is a senior-level position within the International Sonobuoy Programmes team at Ultra, responsible for overseeing the technical integrity of sonobuoy products throughout their development lifecycle. The successful candidate will provide technical direction to project teams, ensuring that sonobuoy systems meet the required standards of design, deployment, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to sonobuoy project teams, ensuring that products meet the required standards of design, deployment, and safety.
  • Oversee the technical integrity of sonobuoy products throughout their development lifecycle, from Technology Readiness Levels to in-service support.
  • Collaborate with the Sonobuoy Chief Engineer and Sonobuoy Project Manager to ensure that sonobuoy systems meet the required standards of design, deployment, and safety.
  • Support customer meetings and provide technical direction to project teams, ensuring that sonobuoy systems meet the required standards of design, deployment, and safety.
Requirements
  • Appreciation of sonar systems design, including deployment, communications, and safety.
  • Design experience in one of the following engineering disciplines: Systems, Electronics, Mechanical, or Software.
  • Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance, ideally with no caveats.
