About the Role

This is a senior technical leadership position within the Sonobuoy team at Ultra, responsible for overseeing the technical integrity of product development, from Technology Readiness Levels to in-service support. The successful candidate will provide technical direction across Sonobuoy project teams, including design reviews, and support customer meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical development of Sonobuoy products, ensuring they meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Represent the Sonobuoy team in customer meetings, presenting technical solutions and addressing customer queries.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Sonar Systems design, including deployment, communications, and safety.
  • Strong understanding of engineering disciplines, including Systems, Electronics, Mechanical, and Software.
  • Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance, with a preference for candidates with existing clearance.
