Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will provide critical support to various departments, ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to various departments, including data entry, correspondence, and filing.
  • Respond to queries and communicate messages to relevant staff in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using hospital computer systems.
  • Order stationery and distribute orders accordingly.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including photocopying, faxing, and booking appointments.
  • Provide clerical support to Ward Managers, including the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
  • Liaise with nursing staff to ensure the smooth discharge of patients.
  • Keep records up to date using PAS, including patients admitted, transferred, and discharged.
  • Request and record the movements of notes and X-rays on the hospital PAS system.
  • Liaise effectively with all staff, other departments, and the general public.
  • Attend and participate in ward/team meetings as required.
  • Act as part of a team, providing clerical services as necessary for colleagues in their absence.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures.
