In this context, learners are confined for significant portions of the day, separated from their families and, for some, their children. Education equips incarcerated individuals with the chance to develop skills, thereby improving their future job prospects and significantly lowering the chances of reoffending. Numerous inmates arrive lacking fundamental skills in Maths or English. The educational programs in prisons ensure that all learners engage in Functional Skills Maths & English, paving the way for vocational training in areas such as Carpentry, Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Plastering & Tiling, Industrial Cleaning, Barbering, Catering, and Horticulture.

Correctional facilities are equipped with dedicated educational departments, featuring classrooms and fully operational workshops, where teaching and learning can thrive. You will receive comprehensive support from a seasoned educational team. Opportunities for training and professional development are available.

Position Overview:

This role is for a Full-Time English Programme Manager within a correctional education department.

The responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the Deputy Education Manager to ensure the effective delivery of all English-related courses and qualifications, with a strong focus on supporting staff and maintaining high standards of teaching.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard working hours

Salary Range: up to £38,000
