Like any educational environment, correctional facilities present their own set of challenges. In this context, learners spend significant amounts of time away from their families, often grappling with personal regrets. Education offers them a renewed focus and a sense of hope.

Providing education to incarcerated individuals allows them to acquire new skills, improving their future job prospects and significantly lowering the chances of reoffending. Many individuals enter the system lacking fundamental skills in Maths and English. The educational programs in prisons ensure that all learners complete Functional Skills in Maths & English, paving the way for vocational training in areas such as Carpentry, Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Plastering & Tiling, Industrial Cleaning, Barbering, Catering, and Horticulture.

Correctional facilities are equipped with dedicated educational departments, featuring classrooms and fully operational workshops, where effective teaching and learning can occur. You will receive comprehensive support from a seasoned educational team, with opportunities for professional development and training.

Position Overview:

This role is for a Full-Time English Programme Manager within a correctional education department.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the Deputy Education Manager to ensure the effective delivery of all English-related courses and qualifications, with a strong focus on supporting staff and maintaining high standards of teaching.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Salary Range: up to £38,000
