About Us

At Best Practice Network, we believe that every child deserves an excellent education. To achieve this, we support and train educational professionals to be the best they can be, enabling them to transform the lives of children and young people.

We're a friendly, DfE accredited, Ofsted outstanding training company providing apprenticeships, professional development, and the DfE's 'Golden Thread' (trainee teachers to school Executive Leaders). We're adaptable, collaborative, and genuinely value the work we do to support the education sector, as much as our trainees do.

Our people are at the heart of our business, and our passion and commitment to education drive us. As a result, we've seen incredible growth over the last few years both nationally and internationally.

We aim to be an employer where everyone can be themselves, do their best in an inclusive working environment, and where all colleagues can thrive and reach their full potential. We want to attract, develop, and retain individuals with different experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Apprenticeship Performance Director, responsible for leading the Early Years and Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Programme. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a highly effective experience for our learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance management of the team, ensuring contractual targets and objectives are met in terms of timely success rates, non-starters, referrals, and progressions.
  • Direct responsibility for the recruitment, management, and support of a team of Apprenticeship Tutors (cross sector).

  • To support the development of the ATs, both new and existing, ensuring they follow funding guidelines as set by the ESFA and up-to-date inspectorate requirements.
  • Address underperformance and implement corrective methods.
  • Supporting business growth; working alongside the sales department to maximise new business sales and learner recruitment.
  • Work closely with other Performance Managers, Sales, Compliance, Finance, and Administration Teams to ensure a cohesive approach to the learner experience from application to completion.
  • Support the Team as required to ensure the smooth running of apprenticeships.
  • Conduct regular observations of teaching and learning in the field.
  • Monitor the delivery of functional skills (supporting the Apprenticeship Tutors) for learners to be able to continuously develop their English and maths skills and/or to achieve the level required by the programmes and carry out all monitoring and claiming activities.
  • Be responsible for the programme performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).

We're looking for an experienced and skilled individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience of driving quality learning, including working to and achieving learner start and completion targets.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Apprenticeships and funding streams.
  • Proven experience of working within a similar Operations/Performance Manager role with recent experience of managing a team of Assessors delivering on the New Standards.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to work with e-portfolios and a variety of software platforms.
  • Confident and professional with the ability to work with people at all levels and to develop strong professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • A good understanding of Ofsted requirements.
  • Solid, occupational experience within an educational/training environment in either early years or teaching.
Our Benefits

We offer a range of benefits to our employees, including:

  • 28 days holiday and an extra day for each year you stay with us, up to a maximum of 33 days, plus bank holidays.
  • We pay for a Healthcare Plan once you've passed probation, which includes access to a private GP.
  • From day 1, free life insurance covering up to x4 your salary.
  • We'll both add money into your pension pot after 3 months.
