About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Physician in Endocrinology and Diabetes to join our team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Share a commitment to the care of general medical in-patients under the endocrine team.
  • Participate in the acute medical on-call rota for West Middlesex Hospital.
  • Provide general diabetes and endocrine clinics, as well as other clinics as determined by the job plan and requirements of the service.
  • Enhance the educational opportunities available to our trainees by any reorganisation and development of services that they initiate.
  • Regular audits will be required and supervision for Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) undertaken by the trainees.
  • Involvement in general management and committee work for the hospital will also be encouraged.

Person Specification

Education and Qualification

  • MBBS or equivalent.
  • GMC Registration.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • Relevant CCT or equivalent or within 3 months of CCT.

Desirable

  • Higher degree PhD or MD.

Experience

  • Broad experience in General Internal Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology.
  • Teaching experience / willingness to teach medical, nursing & other staff.
  • Experience of audit / clinical research.

Desirable

  • Undertaken a management course.
  • Understanding of the NHS and its organisation.
  • Completed publications in appropriate journal(s).
