Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Locum Consultant Neurologist to join our Neurology department at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly department within a high-performing Trust, providing inpatient and outpatient services in a busy but well-supported hospital.

About the Role

The successful candidate will join a close-knit team of four neurology consultants and be part of the larger cross-site department. The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient services, with a focus on delivering high-quality care to patients. The neurology clinics at both sites are run on the ABN template, with 30 minutes allocated for new patients and 15 minutes for follow-ups.

The appointee will also be responsible for providing a daily consultant-delivered referral service at West Middlesex University Hospital, with variable referrals ranging from 1-5 per day. The indicative job plan includes time for cross-cover with ward referrals relating to consultant leave, requiring flexibility from the appointee to help deliver this.

Our Trust provides services from two main hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, as well as a number of clinics across London and the South-East. We offer a range of community-based services, including award-winning sexual health and HIV clinics. Our facilities are some of the best in the country, with a recent £25 million investment in expanding our adult and neonatal critical care facilities at Chelsea and Westminster and redevelopment of our children's unit at West Middlesex.

We have been rated by the Care Quality Commission as 'Good' in all five of the main domains of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, giving us an overall rating of 'Good'. We have also been awarded an 'Outstanding' rating for 'use of resources' by an NHS Improvement inspection.
